Privacy Policy
Overview
Teleprompter (“Teleprompter”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Teleprompter: Scrolling Script (the “App”) on iOS, including iPhone and iPad, and macOS.
The App is designed to work without an internet connection. Your scripts, recordings, projects, settings, and other App content are stored locally on your device. We do not operate user accounts, cloud storage, online sync, advertising profiles, or remote servers for App content.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect, receive, sell, rent, or share the content you create in the App. In particular, we do not collect:
- Scripts and projects. Text, project names, prompts, notes, cue settings, scroll speed, font size, layout choices, and other project details remain on your device.
- Recordings and media. Videos, audio, photos, imported files, exported files, and takes remain on your device or in locations you choose on your device.
- Usage analytics. We do not collect analytics about how you use the App.
- Advertising data. We do not use advertising SDKs, behavioral tracking, or cross-app tracking.
- Account data. The App does not require a Teleprompter account and does not collect login credentials.
Local storage
App data is stored locally on the device where you use the App. This may include scripts, project files, recording settings, display preferences, and recordings you create. You control this data through the App, your device storage, and system tools such as Files, Photos, Finder, or device backup settings.
Because content is stored locally, uninstalling the App, deleting App data, erasing a device, or disabling backups may permanently remove your scripts or recordings. You are responsible for exporting, backing up, or transferring files you want to keep.
Permissions
The App may request device permissions only when needed for features you choose to use. Depending on your platform and settings, these permissions may include:
- Camera. Used to record video while reading a script.
- Microphone. Used to record audio with your video and, where available, support voice-based controls.
- Photos, Files, or local documents. Used to import scripts or save/export recordings only when you choose those actions.
- Speech recognition or voice input. Used for local or system-provided voice control features where available.
You can manage permissions in iOS, iPadOS, or macOS Settings. Some features may not work if required permissions are disabled.
How information is used
Information stored by the App is used locally to provide App functionality, including:
- Displaying and scrolling scripts.
- Saving your project and reading preferences.
- Recording video and audio when you choose to record.
- Importing, exporting, and organizing local files.
- Supporting platform features such as camera, microphone, document access, and device backup settings controlled by Apple.
Voice features
If the App offers voice control, microphone input or speech recognition is used to control App behavior, such as starting, pausing, or adjusting script scrolling. The App does not send your voice commands or recordings to Teleprompter servers. Any system-level speech processing is handled by Apple according to your device settings and Apple’s policies.
Retention and deletion
Your App content remains on your device until you delete it, delete the App, erase the device, or manage it through platform storage tools. If you export or save files outside the App, those files are controlled by the destination you choose.
Third-party services
The App itself does not transmit your scripts, projects, recordings, or usage activity to Teleprompter. Your use of Apple platforms, the App Store, TestFlight, device backups, Photos, Files, iCloud settings, or other system services may be subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policies. If you choose to share, export, email, upload, or store files using another app or service, that service’s policies apply.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age required in your region. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Your choices and rights
Because App content is stored locally, most access, correction, export, and deletion choices are available directly on your device. Depending on your location, you may also have privacy rights under applicable law.
- You can delete scripts, projects, and recordings in the App or from device storage locations you control.
- You can manage camera, microphone, speech recognition, Photos, Files, and document permissions in iOS, iPadOS, or macOS Settings.
- You can export or back up files using system tools you choose.

Security
Since your content is stored locally, device security is important. We recommend using device passcodes, biometric locks, operating system updates, and secure backup practices. No device, app, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after an updated policy is posted means you acknowledge the updated policy.
